Last week I met this beautiful family at Loch Haven Park in Orlando for a series of maternity portraits.  They are such a wonderful group already, I can only imagine that baby-to-be will only enhance it.  I can’t wait to meet your new addition next month!

I swear I could take photos of this little girl all.day.long.  She’s simply stunning. Can’t wait to do pictures with her baby sister.

This Saturday I’m going to start a one-week series on my blog teaching you how to take better photos of your kids and dogs.  Its all leading up the announcement of some workshops that I’m putting together for Moms & Dads with point-and-shoot cameras and digital SLR cameras.  Check back every day starting this Saturday for some great tips and more information about the workshops.  You don’t want to miss it!

As I was finishing up editing this maternity session, I realized that I never blogged it!  I can’t believe it slipped through the cracks because I love doing beach sessions and seldom get a request to do one. A couple of weeks ago I met this beautiful couple at Cocoa Beach for some maternity portraits.  It was a beautiful evening and we even got to eavesdrop on a wedding that was going on just a bit from us on the beach!  I cannot wait to meet their little girl.

blog2If you are interested in maternity and/or newborn pictures, contact me and we’ll schedule your session(s).  I recommend doing maternity pictures between 34-37 weeks and newborn pictures within the first 10 days (preferably at days 5 or 6).  I do have a session package that includes both the maternity session, newborn session, mini album from the maternity session and 25 custom designed birth announcements from the newborn session.  Email me (karenleslie @ mac.com) or call me (407.340.8088) for details.

Editing these photos just made me smile.  This little man was so much fun to work with — definitely laid back and easy going.  Oh, and he’s adorable too!

I love when parents want to include something special and personal in the photos.  On the last photo on the bottom left, Baby G is laying on a quilt that his grandma made him.  It is a beautiful piece and I’m so glad we could incorporate it into his photos. :)

I think this session was my fastest newborn session to date!  Let me explain …. there’s this thing about the very newest members of our society: they have a tendency to rule your life.  In a good way, of course. :)   So, when I do a newborn session, it doesn’t matter how prepared I am … I am at the mercy of the littlest being in the room.  If he/she is not sleepy, or very hungry, or just doesn’t want to cooperate, we wait … and wait … and wait.  So, doing a newborn session can take 3-4 hours, even if most of what we are doing during that time is waiting.  Well, this little guy decided at the very beginning he was ready for his first photo session and he took a bit of food and then off to sleep he went.  Thank you little man!

We even fit in a quick outdoor session at a local park.  This is the first time that Mom & Dad wanted to do something outside and I’m so glad they did! As a side note, the little white chair belonged originally to his grandfather, then his mom … and now its his.  I LOVE that mom wanted to include it in our session.

I have to say that I am a bit overwhelmed (still) by the sheer fabulousness of this entire session.  I don’t say that to be boastful, because, honestly, I can’t take all the credit.  A lot of the credit goes to my super beautiful and stylish client who was a wonderful partner to collaborate with on this session.  You can totally say that the accessories make this shoot!  Ok, I’m not going to keep blabbing on … the photos speak for themselves.

If you are interested in the same type of high fashion maternity session, get in contact with me and I’ll set you up! :)

I really had fun with the comments promotion that I did last time, so the same offer applies.  If this post gets 25 comments (or more) within the next week, the client will get one medium resolution (printable up to 8×12″) digital file of their choice.   Forward this to family, friends, your entire Facebook or Twitter page.  :)

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting this beauty — 6 days old and just as cute and as agreeable as can be!

I’m going to try something new.  If Mom & Dad can get 25 people to leave a comment on this post, I’ll gift them a bonus $50 in print credit that they can use towards any products.  :) Forward this blog post to family and friends and help them reach their goal of 25 comments!

Even though the rain threatened us during the entire session, we managed to not only stay dry, but also take advantage of some really beautiful light and got some great shots.  Of course, it doesn’t hurt when you have such beautiful parents-to-be.

041110_003Oh my goodness!  I cannot even begin to tell you how adorable this little one is and how good he was for our photography session.  I’m really going to have a hard time editing this session! Daddy (as you can see in the last photograph) is a firefighter with the Orlando Fire Department.  Mom wanted that incorporated into our maternity and newborn sessions, and I think it turned out great.  Enjoy your preview!
