Happy 2012 and a Look Back at 2011

This morning an email went out with a link to the 2011 End-of-year Slideshow. I’ve had so much fun putting this together that I’m going to make it an annual tradition. This year’s slideshow features some of my clients that were photographed in 2011. I wish I could have included everyone, but there are so limitations since the song is only so long. As it is, the slideshow goes very quickly, so you should be ready to watch it as soon as it starts.

Speaking of the many clients who were in front of my camera this year, I actually went back and counted and I was shocked to see that in 2011 I photographed almost 650 people and their 4-legged friends! wow. And, that doesn’t count some of the commercial clients I worked with, such as the Bach Festival or the 2 weddings I photographed. I was even surprised by that number.

Looking forward to 2012, I’m excited to continue offering both Premium and Mini sessions year round. I’ll be offering special sessions around the time that the azaleas are in bloom (probably late-February -early March). I’m going to continue to offer returning clients a price break on Premium Sessions (just ask!). And, finally I’m going to be offering a few new products, as well as expanding some of my current product lines.

Families come in all shapes and sizes. This one just happens to have two wonderful (and beautiful) members that walk on all four legs instead of only two. Aren’t they a gorgeous family of four?

Farewell to Good Friends

You have seen these two on my blog before. They belong to a long-time client, who gave me the sad news that they are leaving Central Florida. Melissa, Leia and Simon, you will definitely be missed!

If these two dogs look a little familiar, its because you’ve seen them here before. Leia and Simon are frequent clients of KarenLeslie Photography and I really look forward to photographing them each and every time. Years ago it was just Leia, and at first she was a bit unsure she was interested in the whole photography thing. Then, she realized it was a good thing! Simon came along last year and I swear he was born a pro! ha!

KarenLeslie Photography and The Green K9

I’ve mentioned before about how much I love small businesses and their owners. Not so surprising, since I am one myself. But, I really do believe that it is the small business owners who make our community stronger and better. I love to frequent locally owned stores and restaurants as much as I can. I recently met some wonderful small business owners who own a green pet boutique in downtown Tavares. Marni and Paul Lewis own The Green K9. If you have a dog, you need to make a trip to go and see them.

Last weekend I teamed up with The Green K9 to do some dog mini sessions for holiday photos. It was tons of fun and I met some absolutely adorable dogs (and their owners). I wanted to share a few of my favorites from the day:

Not As Easy As It Looks

I love a challenge. So, when this client emailed a few weeks ago saying that she wanted me to come and photograph her family …. of 4 daschunds, I jumped at the challenge! We have a daschund in our family and they are such wonderful little dogs. They did give me a run for my money, but it was so much fun and all worth it in the end. Let’s just say that the fact that I have a lot of patience paid off. ha!

New Additions

This is now the second KarenLeslie Photography client that has a new addition to their family and asked me to come and create some new photographs. I’m happy to say that in each case, the new member has definitely found their forever home.

Big Heart

This is the second time I’ve worked with this client. She asked me back recently to photograph two new members of her family. This lady has the biggest heart ever and works with a variety of animal services charities in town. These pups are definitely lucky dogs!

Meet Simon

Meet my new friend, Simon. He just joined his “forever family”, who I’ve photographed a number of times in the past. Simon is not only gorgeous (look at those rolls!), but also incredibly well-behaved.

Simon is a rescue Pug from Pug Rescue of Florida.
