{Full of Grace}

May 27, 2008

I met Grace this past Saturday at my new studio in Winter Park (more on that later). I saw instantly that she was not only a beauty, but also a total sweetheart. Grace comes with the kind of story I *love* to hear: she was on her last days at the dog shelter when her mom fell in love and took her home. Grace now has the best life — has lots of love and gives lots of love. Because of all she’s been through, she is also very shy and not too crazy about my camera and having to have her photograph taken. But, with the help of Grace’s mom and her friend, we managed to convince Grace that getting your photo taken isn’t such a bad thing. In fact, it often means some really yummy liver treats as part of the deal!

Stay tuned for more news on my Winter Park studio. I’m planning some really fun stuff for kids, families and dogs, so be sure to check back!

This little cutie was so good for me during her newborn session. She just slept and slept and slept … no matter how many times I positioned and repositioned her. Isn’t she beautiful?

{The Forgotten Age}

May 16, 2008

In the photography world, the tween or teen years are often referred to as “the forgotten age.” Mom and Dad don’t often bring the kids in to have photographs made. We see a lot of babies and toddlers, but once they hit 8, 9, 10 …. we don’t often see them. But, I have to say that its one of my favorite ages to photograph. I was really happy when this mom called for an appointment.

{6 Months}

May 15, 2008

This is another client who I last saw as a newborn — just a few days old. She came back for her 6 month photos. :)

{5 Months}

This sweet little boy was first a client when he was just a few days old. Now he’s 5 months and just as adorable as can be!

This past Saturday was Mini Session day at Leu Gardens. We had beautiful weather (a little hot, but definitely bearable) and some really wonderful mini sessions. The best part for me was seeing some of my newborn clients, now at the ripe old age of 5 months, 6 months and 1 year!

I wanted to give everyone a sneak peek today of each of the sessions and throughout the week I’ll post more of each as I work on the edits for each session.

I had a lot of fun with these mini sessions and definitely want to offer at least one or two before the end of the year. Check back on this blog for more details!

{Family}

May 9, 2008

I get quite a few calls from families who are visiting the Central Florida area and want to schedule a family portrait session. I LOVE this idea. What a better time to do family portraits than when you are all together … relaxed … and having fun. Plus, you can’t beat Florida’s beautiful lush foliage. To make it convenient, often I’ll travel to where the family is staying — whether that is a Disney property, timeshare, or one of the other gorgeous hotels in Orlando.

This family came from all over the U.S. to spend the week together at Disney. I met them at the Disney Swan Hotel and we got some great images of their family.

Enjoy!

4 kids under the age of 6! Whew! You can bet those kids had a great week :)

Isn’t this great? Nana had shirts made up for everyone that said “Nana’s Family Tour – Disney World 2008″. Love it!

I LOVE this mother-daughter portrait. That reminds me that I need one of me and my mom.

I loved this image cropped in a panoramic crop. Would look fantastic in a 10×20″ frame!

And then I asked them to get a bit crazy .. and they said “sure!”
